This course’s dynamic agenda combines individualized online study, personal research, live in-class workshops and assignments where students will acquire an in-depth, holistic understanding of the human body. The first part of this course is designed to provide a general understanding of the body’s cellular and chemical composition. Acupressure is an ancient Chinese healing technique where pressure is applied on energetic pathways, or meridian points, located throughout the body. This technique eases emotional and physical disharmony by releasing energy blocks and improving the central nervous system’s overall function. It is known to reduce stress and strengthen the body’s resistance to disease. Over and beyond learning about the craniosacral system that surrounds the brain and the spinal cord, students try the technique themselves. The course also teaches how to gauge the health of the connective tissue that impacts the craniosacral system. Focusing is an intense inward-looking process that goes deeper than feelings and memories, where knowledge is stored on a physical level. Psychoneuroimmunology (PNI) is a new interdisciplinary biomedical science that studies the intimate relationships and interaction between the Immune and Nervous Systems. This provides an important basis to understand how our health behaviors and emotions concretely affect physiology and visa versa. The course maintains a holistic perspective on health and healing, while exploring how the physical and energetic systems communicate. Students also look at how emotions, addictions, stress and personality types can have an impact on health. Clinical applications of PNI are also examined.

Students are introduced to the anatomy of energy and to diagnostic tools, including applied kinesiology, and field reading and sensing. Students acquire methods of tapping into the underlying energy field that manages all of the organism’s functions. This course teaches students how to interpret symptoms and pathology from an energetic perspective. This helps them understand the message that the body is trying to convey. They also learn to respond to these messages using vibrational tools and techniques, including flower essences. Students will prepare their own Flower Essence kit for this class.
